The process of washing your skin does not end with simple washing. Confused? You see, how you wash your skin has a great impact upon the skin itself. Excessive washing strips the skin of its moisture while triggering oil production. Interestingly, neither one of these processes have a negative impact on skin if they are done properly. However, overdoing it can lead to some skin and general health problems. Skin care experts tend to disagree regarding the number of times that skin should be washed per day. While some experts believe that twice per day is more than enough, many other experts believe that three times per day is the best course of action. So, which answer is the right one? Well, in order to make your own estimate, it helps to consider the reason why we wash our skin to begin with. The basic principle behind washing is to cleanse the skin. This process keeps the skin healthy, young, and it also prevents the skin from looking dull. But, be forewarned †too much washing leads to drier skin, greater oil production, and (as a reaction to dehydration) it also destabilizes the ph balance of the skin. Additionally, too much oil can lead to pimples and other breakouts. Still, all soaps are not created the same. Some soaps can change the skin’s appearance, while other soaps can dry out the skin causing it to age quicker. Also, the process of scrubbing and cleansing might also result in rashes and irritation. This can cause a change in the ph value of the skin, which will lead to an overproduction within the oil glands giving the skin a very oily complexion. Another problem related to washing your skin too much is that excessive washing can lead to the deprivation of moisture and oil. This, in turn, can lead to other problems…Washing or cleansing your skin more than twice in a day might lead to a panic-response by the oil glands resulting in adult acne. Acne will emerge if the skin does not absorb the moisturizer that you apply in order compensate for the dryness. Likewise, over-cleansing can also lead to Seborrheic dermatitis (i.e. flaking red scales around the scalp). Clearly, it is very important to maintain a sense of regulation and balance when it comes to washing. If you are concerned about aging, nothing will age your skin quicker than excessive washing with the wrong kind of cleanser. As your skin begins to dry, it also begins to age quickly. Thus, not only do you have to use a quality, natural cleanser, you also have to be sure that your skin is getting enough moisture from your moisturizer. You might also find that your skin prefers different cleansers and moisturizers during different seasons. As with most other things in life, it is crucial that you exercise moderation while taking care of your skin. While the right cleansers and moisturizers can protect your skin, the wrongs ones can damage your skin in more ways than one.br
